From the back cover:
Having close access to the Prince, Sei-Ann has decided to become his future bride! And lucky for her, the Prince turns out to be a handsome young man who she falls in love with after a single glance. Things look very good for Sei-Ann! But wait!! You say the real Prince is someone else?!
Review:
I’d had a vague interest in this title, but didn’t investigate it until I spent the brief interlude between piano recitals at Border’s, where I read the first couple of chapters. Sei-Ann completely won me over, for she’s so entirely Slytherin! Her goal is to marry a prince, even if he be old and sweaty, but when she sees Prince Joon, she becomes determined to secure his specific affections.
The fairy-tale like story takes place in the kingdom of Toskania, where epaulettes and very ruffly outfits are evidently the norm. In addition to Sei-Ann’s personality, ambitious and outspoken without being annoying, there are other elements to the story that make it unique, like Joon’s almost complete lack of reaction to Sei-Ann, Yu-Jen’s… um… apparent predilections, and the mystery concerning Sei-Ann’s background.
Sure, it could possibly turn out be one of those “OMG, I’m a princess?!” stories, but from what I’ve seen so far, I don’t think it will be taking that oft-trod route. Too bad volume 2 won’t arrive until April!
